AI actions & Generate
Not every job needs a conversation. Right-click a layer for one-click AI, or make new media from the Add menu — the same commands the agent uses, run directly, with the layer itself showing the work.
AI actions on a layer

- Cut out subject removes the background with a segmentation model — an image becomes a PNG with transparency, a video a WebM with transparency. The layer updates in place; its position, timing, effects and keyframes stay. For a green screen or a flat studio backdrop the live chroma key is free and adjustable.
- Upscale 2× adds resolution; the layer keeps its size on the canvas, only sharper.
- Captions from speech transcribes with word timings and lays out one caption per readable phrase, each word synced.
- Remove pauses hears where the words are, cuts every longer pause and the dead air at the head and tail, and closes the gaps with the whole comp in sync — captions and titles after a cut slide back with their words, and a music bed is shortened instead of jumping.
- Clean up voice keeps the speech and removes room echo, hum, noise and music. On a video it adds a clean voice layer linked under it and mutes the original sound.
- Actions ending in … open the chat with the request started, because they need your words.
Generate with AI
Timeline ▸ + Clip ▸ AI image… / AI video… / AI voiceover… / AI sound effect… / AI music… opens one dialog. Write the brief, pick the shape — aspect, length, how many, a transparent background, a voice and how to read it — and Generate. The result lands at the playhead and in Media ▸ AI generated; a ghost card in the comp shows it coming. Ask the agent hands the same brief to the chat when you want it designed around, not just rendered.
You can see it working
While a job runs, the layer shows it: a moving ring and a sheen on the canvas and on its timeline clip, and a pill saying what is happening — Cutting out · Generating 40%. The status bar tracks it and offers Undo the moment it lands. The same shows when the agent, or an external agent, works on a layer.
Nothing is lost
Everything AI makes records the provider, model and prompt on the asset. An edit, a cut-out or an upscale keeps the original in Media and points back at it, so a picture's history is always there.
